Job Description:
Rapid Hardware Solutions (RHS) is chartered to deliver agile services. We bridge across Operations and Engineering, providing solutions through the execution of quick-turn design, procurement, manufacturing and environmental test services.
RHS is skilled in special test equipment, program trainers, environmental test and cooling systems mechanical design. We utilize Pro/Engineer and Common Product Data Management (PDM) with tailored release processes for maximum cross-use and flexibility.
RHS executes prototyping and high-mix/low-rate procurement and fabrication activities with a focus on in-house electro-mechanical packaging, support equipment and liquid cooling systems integration, and partner with outside suppliers to satisfy all demands. We strive to minimize cycle times and provide best value through the utilization of dynamic and agile processes.
This position is for a Mechanical Engineer to support the Test Equipment Engineering section.
Responsibilities include working across organizations (electrical, test, operations, etc.) and with the specific program teams to determine test equipment needed in support of tasking, designing equipment to meet a set of requirements, creating documents per the Raytheon Missile Defense guidelines, and releasing them in the Product Data Management (PDM) system. In addition to the design effort, the person will lead the effort to ensure procurement and build processes are executed to the program’s schedule, providing support to questions and issues as they arise and resolving issues with the documentation via Change Requests. This role requires mechanical knowledge and leadership ability to ensure success.
Required Skills:
Minimum of 2 years of engineering related experience in the area of design and manufacturing
Test equipment experience, either through design or utilization
Ability to interface with other engineering disciplines, non-technical disciplines and suppliers to resolve technical issues
Support quick turn design to meet stringent program schedules
Able to troubleshoot issues quickly
Experience in solid modeling tools such as Pro/Engineer, Solidworks or similar tool
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Self-motivated with effective oral and written communication skills
Willingness to travel to domestic Raytheon sites and suppliers
Understanding of Design for Manufacturability (DFMA)
U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date. Except in rare circumstances, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
