Summary of Internship:

This Finance Internship position provides an opportunity for business minded students who are currently pursuing a finance, economics, or other business degree to get hands on experience working with our finance team in a fast-paced environment. We hire a few interns for the summer period that go through business training and excel classes before focusing on individual, department, and group projects. They contribute to projects and process enhancements, gain exposure to FP&A reporting, run financial modeling, and increase skill sets through various ad-hoc analysis. We also offer more insight into big data, how to navigate using large data mining techniques, database understanding and reporting tools. This is a hand-on environment requiring a positive and self-starter attitude to gain the most out of the internship. The position starts in May/June, and is paid, working 40 hours per week through August.

Essential Functions may include but are not limited to:

  • Support month end close activities for the Global and North America IES Finance teams

  • Provide financial support for headcount, capital, and FX reporting.

  • Create and maintain weekly global sales forecast. Ensure sales/booking data (SIOP) is reconciled and aligned with global reporting (Oracle CMR).

  • Identify opportunities for Practical Process Improvement (PPI)

  • Perform or lead special projects and ad-hoc financial reporting as required.

*Review of historical and projected finance performance

  • Provide department support basics such as standard financial reporting on standard time frames with strategic insights, hypothesis and conclusions.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Advanced Excel and Powerpoint skills

  • Aptitude for understanding relevance of revenue and margin drivers along with product mix

  • Ability to embrace change, adapt quickly, work independently and navigate a complex environment

  • Willingness to learn, be mentored, and improve

  • Exceptional customer focus

  • Demonstrate a strong interest in a Finance or Business career.

  • Quantitative and analytical capabilities

Qualifications:

  • Student currently enrolled in classes leading to a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics or other business degree.

  • Clear communication skills and ability to intelligently interact at various levels of management and present to large audiences.
