Job Description SUMMARY: Responsible for providing customers with design-in support including cost and pricing estimates, design and process requirements, and value engineering as part of the Global Contracts, Pricing, & Estimating team (CP&E) ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Other duties may be assigned. Works with Management, Production and Sales teams to determine engineering feasibility, cost effectiveness, and customer demand for new and existing products Reviews customer specifications and technical documents in order to prepare estimates Analyzes cost factors required to meet customer specifications and provides input for pricing of products Works with Account Managers and Sales teams to prepare cost estimates and bids for customers Collaborates with Design engineers and Manufacturing engineers on estimates as needed Creates Bills of Material (BOM) for cost estimates as needed Identifies and quantifies cost factors, such as production time, materials, and labor expenses Recommend ways to make a product more cost effective or profitable Evaluates a products cost-effectiveness or profitability Uses computer software to calculate estimates and helps develop new processes/tools for estimating Helps ensures integrity and accuracy of costs as well as related financial information Analyzes competitors, material, and other costs and market demand to develop costing model KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Requires knowledge typically acquired through: Completion of a Bachelor\'s degree from a four-year college or university; or equivalent work experience Two to five years of experience; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience Understanding of manufacturing Bills of Material (BOM) and Labor Routings Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, profit margins, and percentages Knowledge to identify problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions Proficient in data analysis, skilled in Microsoft Excel and use of ERP systems. Experience with Costing or Pricing software QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
