Job Responsibilities/Competency:

  • Performs all tasks asked by the licensed staff to help facilitate patient care on the OB

  • Demonstrates competence in functioning as a receptionist on the OB unit and communicating with physicians, ancillary departments, patients and visitors

  • Receives, places and transfers calls using appropriate telephone etiquette, handles telephone information requests with courtesy and accuracy

  • Performs job tasks thoroughly and consistently

  • Completes all birth records according to state recommendations

  • Demonstrates an ability to perform in an accurate and precise manner in crisis and emergency situations

  • Answers call lights when indicated

  • Knowledgible with the infant security system and participatees in the coordination of care with the infant security system
