Package Steel Systems, Inc. Warehouse/Yardman/Laborer in Sutton, Massachusetts
SUMMARY: Package Steel Systems is seeking a full-time permanent WAREHOUSE/YARDMAN/LABORER in Sutton for first shift; 7am-3:30pm, 40 hrs./wk.; \$17-19/hr. depending on experience who will ensure the implementation of scheduled operations of material smovement through receiving, storage, loading and shipping under the direction of the Material Handling Lead. DUTIES: \ Ensure that loading, receiving (materials, supplies, and returned goods), and incoming inspections are conducted promptly and completely \ Verify that material is properly labeled and placed in assigned locations, properly blocked and stacked \ Forward all production and equipment reports as required by established procedures \ Verify the accuracy of quantities recorded, and that all parts meet PII quality standards \ Contact Material Handling Lead immediately when parts required for shipment are discrepant, damaged, or missing \ Make sure that the gates are locked and all lights have been turned off and that doors are secure at the end of each day \ Ensure that all fork trucks are in the Truck Garage at the end of each day \ Maintain work areas in a neat and orderly manner and observe and obey all safety rules \ Detect and report defective and unsafe equipment and materials, as well as unusual situations to Material Handling Lead REQUIREMENTS: \ High School Diploma \ 2 yrs. experience as Yard/Warehouse worker \ Must have Forklift Certification \ Must have effective communication skills and demonstrated leadership ability \ Must have knowledge of warehouse scales for coils and put-ups \ Must have knowledge of safe operator practices for forklifts and tractors \ Must be able to recognize damaged or improperly fabricated parts \ Must have thorough knowledge of the Quality System Incoming Acceptance criteria \ Must be fluent in the English language \ Must be able to communicate verbally \ Must have good eyesight, hearing, and physical coordination/strength to operate fork trucks and material handling equipment safely \ Must be able to twist, bend, walk, and lif up to 50 lbs.
