SUNDERLAND Kitchen Crew - Kitchen Garden Farm Shift(s) 1st Hours 7-5 Mon-Fri; 8-1 Sat Length of time (if temporary or contract) ASAP through December (possibility of year-round work) Job Status Full Time Part Time Benefits Sick Leave Position Description Kitchen Garden Farm is hiring kitchen crew members for the 2021 processing season. Full-time positions start immediately and run through December, with the possibility of 3-4 days/week through the winter. We are looking for food loving professionals interested in preserving the highest quality seasonal ingredients into a wide variety of value-added farm products using multiple methods (fermentation, pickling, dehydration, canning). Responsibilities include working to harvest and preserve vegetables grown on the farm, and processing, bottling, and packaging of specialty food products. Must be able to work Monday through Saturday with speed, endurance, and good cheer. Hours are generally 7am-5pm M-F and 8am-1pm every other Saturday, up to 50 hours per week. Part time schedules (4 days/week) are also possible. Strong attention to detail and eagerness to learn are essential. Adherence to food safety protocols and safe handling of equipment are required. Ability to lift 50 lbs., work independently and on a team, and communicate effectively are also important. Previous farm or kitchen experience with ServeSafe preferred.
