Whitsons Culinary Group Food Service Worker/Cashier - Sudbury School Nutrition in Sudbury, Massachusetts

Great Part time job while your children are in school! Work 10 Months - Late August thru Mid June, Holidays, School Vacation Weeks and Summers off to spend more time with your children. Basic Daily Kitchen Duties: Preparing cold lunches, sandwiches, salads and boxed lunches. Cupping and bagging canned fruits/vegetables for self service line. Washing lunch trays and food pans in between lunch service times. Serving meals according to HHFKA guidelines. * SUMMARY: This position is a food service/cashier worker position. Responsible for making and serving nutritious meals for students in a safe and healthful manner. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: * Prepare and serve food according to menus and in correct portion sizes as mandated by yield guides. * Perform cleaning duties, including sweeping and mopping of floors, cleaning of equipment and work areas, dish washing and pot washing. * Comply with all State, Federal, local health department requirements for safe food handling * Assist Manager with incoming supplies, storing and rotating food by FIFO method * Follows assigned break schedule * Collect and strip trays for dish washing and participate in washing and cleaning of all areas in the kitchen * Store cutlery, dishes, trays, cups, pots, pans etc. * Participates in monthly safety training * Attend all mandatory in-service program and at home computer training, complete all training by assigned due dates. * Manages POS/cash handling if applicable for position ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Adhere to all Whitsons policies and procedures at all times * Support the goals, objective and mission statement set forth by Whitsons. * Comply with all requirements of the mandated food handling certification requirements * Performs all other duties as assigned. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES: Education: * High school graduate or equivalent preferred * Must complete all Whitsons and other mandated training as assigned Other Qualifications, Experience and Competencies: * Ability to speak and read English in order to understand and perform job assignments. * 1 year professional food service experience preffered * Always present a positive and professional image. Lifting while turning side to side is sometimes necessary. * Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT: * The work is performed primarily in the kitchen and cafeteria * Standing most of the work day is required. * Work requires movement in and out of store rooms and freezers * Exposure to extreme temperatures (hot and cold) due to cooking and refrigeration equipment. * The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud.
