Actalent Electrical Engineer in Sturbridge, Massachusetts

Job Title: Electrical Engineer - Controls SpecialistJob Description

As an Electrical Engineer specializing in Controls, you will play a crucial role in supporting our manufacturing team by troubleshooting and improving manufacturing processes. This position is intensely hands-on and focuses primarily on support rather than design. You will be responsible for developing, troubleshooting, and optimizing fiber production processes, identifying and implementing improvements in cost, quality, yield, and productivity. Additionally, you will lead projects, develop new manufacturing techniques, and coordinate with R&D for the release of new products.

Hard Skills

  • Experience with Siemens PLC control systems, including HMI packages like WinCC Flexible and TIA portal

  • Experience in designing control cabinets

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Solidworks or other CAD software

  • PLC programming

  • Electrical troubleshooting

Soft Skills

  • Project management skills

  • Data analysis skills

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 12 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Sturbridge, Massachusetts.

Work Environment

This role is fully onsite, operating in a hands-on, manufacturing floor setting from 8am to 5pm. You will be part of a small, diverse team of 10 engineers with backgrounds in chemical, electrical, and software engineering. The team maintains a strong, positive culture, emphasizing collaboration and support across all levels of the manufacturing team.
