State of Massachusetts Supervising Gaming Agent (MGM Springfield) in Springfield, Massachusetts

The Massachusetts Gaming Commission is seeking to hire a Supervising Gaming Agent assigned to the MGC Casino in Springfield, MA. Under the direction of the Casino Regulatory Manager, this position is responsible for assisting in the coaching, mentoring, training, and job development of Gaming Agent I and Gaming Agent II. This position has first line oversight into the daily activities of the Gaming Agent I and Gaming Agent II reviewing reports, inspections, and reviews for completeness. The shift for this position is Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday from 6:00pm to 4:00am. The Days off are Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: • Support the Casino Regulatory Manager at the property with the creation of policies, procedures, and regulations and oversee the monitoring of casino and hotel activities, with an emphasis on revenue and gaming operations. • Collaborate with the Casino Regulatory Manager and fellow Supervisors to prepare and offer education and training to Gaming Agents I & II • Review and assist in resolving disputes from the public, licensees, and other gaming officials. • Identify deficiencies in the casino’s internal controls. Provide input into the review of gaming floor and back of house change requests and new gaming layouts ensuring compliance. • Maintain a foundational knowledge of casino gaming regulations and rules of the games. • Participate in frequent check-ins with the Casino Regulatory Manager to identify, investigate, and report insight of compliance issues, include suggestions for corrective action, if needed. • Assist the Casino Regulatory Manager in the evaluation process for Gaming Agent I and Gaming Agent II. _Our Benefits_: Hybrid work environment; MA State Retirement Plan (Pension); a 9000 sq. foot on-site Fitness Center; Tuition Remission for yourself and your spouse to MA Community Colleges and State Universities; Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, and Disability insurance; 12 paid Holidays; Deferred Compensation 457(b) Plan; Flex Spending for Healthcare, Daycare, and Transportation; Three weeks’ Vacation to start , three Personal Days and 15 Sick Days per year; Health Insurance Buy-out option. • Demonstrated expertise of gaming equipment, rules of the games, count room operations, casino gaming regulations, and internal controls, casino surveillance and security operations • Working knowledge and familiarity with or exposure to criminal and/or regulatory investigative techniques, principles, and procedures • Demonstrated leadership and mentoring abilities. • Ability to work independently with little to no supervision. • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel Experience, Education, and Training: * High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of eight years working in an office or casino environment, with a minimum of four years of experience in a casino or casino regulatory agency; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor’s degree is encouraged but not required. Salary is commensurate with experience. The successful candidate will be required to pass an extensive background check that includes a full credit check, CORI, drug screen, fingerprinting and a review of your income tax standing with the IRS and DOR. The Massachusetts Gaming Commission is responsible for the implementation of the expanded gaming law (Chapter 194 of the Acts of 2011). Under the law, the Commission is tasked with establishing a regulatory framework for the solicitation, licensing, taxation, and oversight of a maximum of three casino licenses and one slots parlor license in Massachusetts.
