Interested in joining our team of dedicated professionals? Way Finders is currently seeking a full-time Rental Market Housing Specialist. The Specialist supports our mission by representing the organization in landlord and tenant relations. The Market Analyst verifies rents are reasonable and fair based on market data and supports mission-based objectives through the delivery of professional and knowledgeable services. The candidate will work fully onsite. Responsibilities include: * Act as in-house expert for the representation of the organization in landlord and tenant relations * Negotiate and approve contract rents and rent increases to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations * Maintain, analyze, and update as necessary internal system(s) that reflect accurate and up-to-date market data; provide reports as necessary and requested * Support project-based rental portfolio acquisitions by determining initial rents and renewals that are in alignment with guidelines and program objectives; negotiate rents as necessary * Coordinate with in-house inspectors and assistants to achieve goals, including proactively and clearly communicating plans and following up on issues in a timely manner * Educate and advise staff, landlords, tenants, and stakeholders on policies, procedures, regulations, and community concerns * Provide outreach campaigns to recruit new property owners to programs; design and implement educational workshops for property owners * Liaise with other housing agencies or authorities, civic associations, and community groups as necessary and appropriate * Remain knowledgeable of current inspection guidelines and requirements, and related housing areas * Establish and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with internal staff and departments, owners, landlords, community groups, funding sources, and stakeholders * Remain knowledgeable of current inspection guidelines and requirements, and related housing areas Requirements include: * 5 years\' equivalent experience in landlord/tenant relations, building construction, remodeling, inspections, or a related role, with 1 year as a field specialist; a combination of experience plus a Bachelor\'s degree may be a substitute * Demonstrate thorough knowledge of building codes laws and regulations * Ability to effectively mediate, negotiate, and solve complex problems in a professional manner * Advanced ability with Microsoft Suite, databases, and comfort learning new technologies * Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team * Excellent organizational skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail, plus the ability to reprioritize * Knowledge of Hampden and Hampshire County municipal codes preferred * Must earn and maintain Housing Quality Standards certification * Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills are preferred, but not required Wage starts between \$22.00 and \$26.00 per hour depending on equivalent qualifications.
