Description:

Come join our Respiratory team at Mercy Medical Center, part of Trinity Health Of New England! We are a member of the nationwide Trinity Health family bringing compassionate care to our communities.

:

Sets up and operates various types of respiratory care equipment and aerosolized drugs to be utilized while providing physician ordered tests and treatments related to the cardiopulmonary system of patients who are medically unstable. Records treatments and test information.

Work Hours/Shift:

  • per diem generally 12hrs-- shift and weekend differentials apply!

You Will Be Responsible For :

  • Exceptional Patient Care : Administers inhaled medications, bronchopulmonary drainage/hygiene therapies, and medical gases as prescribed

  • Technical Familiarity: Sets up, operates and manages patient care on respiratory related equipment such as mechanical ventilators, NIPPV/CPAP, or High Flow Oxygen devices;manages patients on invasive mechanical ventilation modes (AC, PSV, PC, APRV, Bi-level)

  • Excellent Communicator : Performs initial and ongoing assessments to gauge appropriateness and response to therapy

  • Strong Educator: Educates patients and families on disease prevention, smoking cessation, treatment procedure and use of respiratory devices

  • Active Teamwork : Responds to medical emergency situations for all age populations and coordinates the activities with other members of the response team

Requirements :

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Respiratory Care, minimum of a two-year Associate's Degree

  • Current State of MA Respiratory Therapist License

  • Registered (RRT) or Certified (CRT) by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC).

  • Advanced CPR for Professional Rescuer and Health Care Provider (AHA or ARC) certification

  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification

  • Thorough knowledge of the procedures and patient care techniques involved in the delivery of respiratory care

  • At least one year clinical experience, preferred
