Description:

Mercy Medical Center, Life Labs, Springfield, MA Hospital Phlebotomy

Responsible for providing skilled inpatient phlebotomy care within Mercy Medical Center. Your work is vital to the diagnosis, treatment and care of patients.

What you will do:

· Receives assignments, obtains required supplies, completes work on time. Completes Stat requests within standard turnaround times. Responses promptly to beeper and/or overhead paging.

· Verifies that the appropriate specimen has been obtained / received for the test requested. Maintains integrity of the specimen.

Work Hours/Shift:

• 24 hrs per week, every other weekend & rotating holidays

Minimum Requirements :

  • High school or GED

  • Nat'l Phlebotomy Certification preferred.

  • Technical training in Phlebotomy Program, 1 year of experience, preferred.

  • Strong interpersonal skills; strong phlebotomy skills. Adaptability and flexibility necessary for work schedule and patient care requirements. Good command of the English language and medical terminology.
