Choice Recovery Coaching Outreach Specialist in Springfield, Massachusetts

SPRINGFIELD PART TIME Outreach Specialist At CHOiCE Recovery Coaching, our mission is to encourage, guide and assist individuals and their families as they face substance use challenges, thereby developing a culture of recovery with equity and justice, which allows them to foster resilience for themselves and their communities. The Peer Outreach Specialist will engage, inspire, and facilitate meaningful conversations with communities, their members and systems alike across the Commonwealth to assist individuals seeking recovery and wellness to explore, create, and meet their own recovery goals while supporting systems with Recovery Orientation. In collaboration with the communities and systems served, the Outreach Specialist will also be responsible for disseminating messages through a variety of platforms including, but not limited to, social media, physical collateral, health & recovery education events. This is a Part-Time position with flexible hours, \$18-20/hr. Essential Responsibilities/Accountabilities: Build and maintain relationships with community members and service providers. Work collaboratively with and support the team to foster positive working relationships, collaborate on recoveree, team and organizational needs/barriers. Assist in organizing and developing educational and informational material to use for health & recovery education and dissemination. Support with data collection and information gathering for reporting purposes Attend meetings/training/webinars related to the addiction and mental health recovery field as needed. Conduct community and systems outreach via telephone, web and social media. Support in organizing resources for the events as well as PPT and handout packets together as needed Collaborate with team in advocating for the identified needs of those seeking recovery and their communities at city, state and national levels. Attend community wellness and recovery related meetings and bring forth work being done by CHOiCE as well as participate as a thought partner with the team. Schedule presentations with appropriate resources on CHOiCE model of care and services. Maintain detailed understanding of all programs to communicate accurately and effectively with referral resources. Research potential industry and marketing events or initiatives within planned strategies as needed. Establish and maintain effective bi-directional referral pathway for referral partners. Submit weekly reports. Attend weekly team meetings. Required Skills: Strong oral and written communication skills. Excellent mediation and group discussion skills. Flexibility, adaptability and creative problem-solving approach. Strong desire and ability to work collaboratively. High level of self-direction, with an ability to multitask and prioritize work effectively. Knowledge of resources, community organizations, and health systems is helpful. Expertise in GOOGLE and Microsoft systems is highly desired. Experience with database management is highly desired. Knowledge of recovery-focused, strengths-based work in mental health/addiction recovery. Consistently demonstrates high standards of integrity by supporting the company\'s mission and values, adhering to the Code of Ethics. Strong experience with and knowledge of social media systems, culture, dissemination desired. Qualifications: High School/GED diploma with 2 - 3 years of experience working in the field. Understanding of substance use and the role of behavioral health recovery resources and harm reduction measures. Ability to work closely with those in active use or early stages of recovery. Direct experience using Community Resources and Community Service programs. Experience working in the community with individuals of diverse cultural and religious backgrounds, demonstrating respect for diversity and a high level of cultural humility.
