Description:
Position Purpose:
At Mercy Medical Center , the Nursing Instructor in the Education Department assesses, plans, develops, implements, and evaluates staff development programs, including orientation, in-service education, and continuing education. The instructor functions as an educator, consultant, and resource to staff.
What you will do:
Coordinate and provide competency-based orientation programs for all levels of nursing personnel.
Develop and provide continuing education activities according to ANCC standards.
Work collaboratively with students and faculty from affiliating schools of nursing.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree or a related field is required. A Master’s degree in Nursing or Education is preferred.
Registered Nurse (RN) Licensure: Valid and current Massachusetts registered nurse licensure is required.
Experience: A minimum of 3 years of Labor & Delivery or Maternity practice experience with some teaching experience is required.
BLS or CPR Certification: Current certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required. Preference granted to those with Instructor certification.
ACLS: Certification is required, with Instructor certification being highly preferred.
Neonatal Resuscitation: Certification is required, with Instructor certification being highly preferred.
Skills: Knowledge of educational methodologies, media, and materials, as well as experience with Meditech applications. Excellent interpersonal relationship and communication skills are required.
