American Outdoor Brands Corporation Network Administrator in Springfield, Massachusetts
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Support the following core technologies: VMware vSphere, Microsoft Windows Servers, Cisco Nexus, Cisco Catalyst, Cisco UCS, PaloAlto, Citrix, Office 365, IBM servers, and storage.
Work with cross-functional teams including IT, Management, and consultants in the design and implementation of information technology that meets stated business objectives and service levels.
Analyze, recommend, and evaluate new technologies including hardware, software, and communications products for network compatibility and applicability.
Assist in the design, deployment, and maintenance of corporate LANs, WANs, and wireless networks including servers, routers, switches, VoIP, power systems, and other hardware.
Assist in the planning, design, and implementation of security systems and their associated software, including firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection systems, and anti-virus/malware software.
Test new technologies and proposed changes to current infrastructure in a zero-impact lab environment.
Receive and respond to incoming calls, pages, and/or e-mails regarding network connectivity problems and respond to emergency network outages in accordance with business continuity procedures.
Perform preventative and fault isolation maintenance on the local and wide area networks.
Perform advanced diagnostics and maintenance on all network hardware assets while troubleshooting end-user devices when additional expertise is required.
Design and implement disaster recovery plans for operating systems, databases, networks, servers, and software applications.
Assume contractual management responsibilities by assisting in requests for proposals/quotes, vendor selection, and contract monitoring.
Participate in the development of system standards, short and long-term goals, project management, and strategic directions.
Create and maintain documentation as it relates to network hardware, configuration, processes, and service records.
Develop, maintain, and update a library of technical documentation
Design and implement appropriate IT metrics and compliance controls.
Read trade magazines and technical manuals and attend conferences and seminars to maintain up-to-date knowledge of hardware and software.
Assist co-workers engaged in problem-solving, monitoring, and installing data communication equipment and software.
Participate in on-call rotation to ensure 24/7 operations of all critical systems.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in an Information Technology field or equivalent technical experience related to systems, networking, security and communications in a corporate environment preferred.
2+ years of relevant hands-on experience.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Language Skills:
- Must have a good command of the English language, both verbal and written communications.
Physical Demands:
Occasional: bending, kneeling, squatting, standing, walking, reaching, overhead reaching, and fine motor skills.
Maximum lifting: to 30 pounds.
Frequent lifting: 5 to 20 pounds.

Position Overview:
As a Network Administrator, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our company's network and systems infrastructure, ensuring its functionality, security, and efficiency. You will work closely with the IT team to support and troubleshoot infrastructure-related issues, implement infrastructure upgrades, and ensure the smooth operation of our network systems.

In-person/non-remote in Maryville, TN
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Implement and maintain the organization's local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and wireless network infrastructure.
Monitor network performance and proactively identify and resolve issues to ensure optimal network operation.
Install, configure, and maintain servers, network equipment, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
Perform regular network-related audits and security assessments to identify vulnerabilities and implement necessary security measures.
Implement and enforce network and system security policies, procedures, and best practices.
Monitor network traffic for suspicious activities and potential security breaches.
Collaborate with the IT security team to implement and maintain network security controls, such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and access controls.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations related to network security and data privacy.
Respond to network-related incidents and service request, diagnosing and resolving network issues in a timely manner.
Maintain enterprise wide phone system, including configuration, upgrades, patching, and replacements.
Collaborate with the IT team to provide technical support for network-related problems reported by end-users.
Develop and maintain accurate network documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and inventory.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related work experience
Professional certifications such as MCSE, Network+, CCENT, CCNA, etc.
Proven work experience as a Network Administrator or similar role.
In-depth knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLAN, etc.).
Strong experience with network hardware, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
Experience with Enterprise phones systems, Mitel is a plus.
Hands-on experience with network monitoring and diagnostic tools.
Competencies and Skills:

Work Environment and Personal Protective Equipment:
Within any of our facilities, employees may be exposed to manufacturing noise, airborne liquid chemicals, fine particulate dust, ambient temperatures, and industrial lighting. Work environment is similar to most manufacturing and distribution operations. May be exposed to excessive noise, temperatures, hazards associated with working around moving machinery, work in confined quarters, exposure to vibrations and shop lighting, continuous exposure to hot temperatures, may be humid, odors, dust, continuous exposure to mechanical hazards, and occasional exposure to chemical hazards.

Safety glasses with side shields and hearing protection required when on manufacturing floor
