Helix Human Services Family Support Specialist in Springfield, Massachusetts

Family Support Specialist Provide an integrated continuum of support designed to meet the individual needs of youth in both the community and home setting. Promote the safety, well-being and permanency of youth and the strengthening of families. Advocate for positive change in families, schools, and local communities. Serve as an agency representative in community partnerships and initiatives centered on children and families. Support Helix Human Services initiatives to include providing child/family assessments, case management, and education and services to meet the needs of youth and their families. Full time Western MA Family Assessment and Mentoring Service is an individualized mentoring and caretaker support service, and we consider ourselves part of each family\'s team. We strive to meet DCF\'s goals for each family while staying attuned to the goals of parents and their children. We create a plan and work with families to stabilize their situations. Schedule Monday through Friday, shift, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Qualifications Bachelor\'s Degree in related field preferred or 5 years relevant experience. Requires knowledge of family systems, parenting issues, skill training, and adolescents. Requires good organizational/time management skills. Requires excellent oral and written communication skills. Requires a current driver\'s license and reliable transportation. Requires the ability to work a flexible schedule including possible evening or weekend and on-call responsibility.
