In this role you will be responsible for analyzing the needs of our organization and collaborate with key process stakeholders to recommend and implement effective tools and technology in support of innovation and process improvements. In addition, you will evaluate, develop and implement technology and tools that enhance the performance of Eversource resources and manage the tool/application development lifecycle, as well as build and own new applications, metric trackers, and reporting dashboards that interface with the various systems to provide better visibility into business performance and restoration progress. This is a highly collaborative role where you will work closely with internal resources to assess critical business processes, tools, and resources to identify and prioritize tool development and enhancements. This is a hybrid role.
Essential Functions:
- Develops new tools and applications for our internal customers.
- Creates, manages, and maintains Microsoft Access Databases, Microsoft Excel Databases and PowerBI Dashboards and reports.
- Perform high-level data analysis, dashboard interface design, develop user acceptance testing (UAT) criteria, and BI documentation
- Ability to perform application configuration and system administration activities for applications and systems within our organization.
- Facilitates and performs the testing and roll-out of updated features and functions for applications.
- Correlates data to find actionable results.
- Develops tools and leverages technology to share relevant information with all stakeholders so business units can learn from process defects, reduce likelihood of future reoccurrence, and improve the mindset of personnel involved in the process.
- Identifies manual processes that can be automated and the works with the stakeholders to select the appropriate toolset.
- Engages with the user community to build consistent and repeatable processes that effectively leverage the tools and technology.
- Ability to diagnosis issues and troubleshoot data interfaces.
Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications:
Technical Knowledge/Skill:
- Ability to create, manage, and maintain Microsoft Access Databases, Microsoft Excel databases, Microsoft PowerBI Dashboards/Reports, and associated user interfaces (visual basic, SQL or similar programming ability).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
- Experience with connecting to various data sources when creating dashboards.
- Experience in multiple programming languages (Python, Matlab, VBA, Access, etc.) and willingness to learn expected is highly desired.
- Experience with Oracle and SQL server is highly desired.
- Working knowledge of IT Change Management processes.
- Ability to influence without direct authority.
- Ability to effectively communicate and interact with stakeholders at all levels of authority Demonstrated strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Strong facilitation, and communication skills (including written, oral, and public speaking) required.
- Commitment to process improvement and optimization (i.e., suggesting alternatives and more effective/efficient ways to work).
- Self-motivated and goal oriented; ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Willingness to learn about and integrate new process and technologies while, when applicable, breaking old paradigms and barriers.
Education:
- A Bachelors’ degree in engineering, technology, computer science or the equivalent degree is required.
Experience :
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience is required, with at least (2) years of experience in computer science, data analysis, information technology, and/or process improvement integration. Experience in the technical, operational, or engineering aspects of the electric utility industry is strongly preferred. Experience in one or more aspects of the job is required.
Licenses & Certifications:
- Valid driver's license
- Microsoft Power BI certification is a plus.
