VCA South Shore (Weymouth) Animal Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Technician to join our specialty departments within our busy, 24-hour emergency/referral/multi-specialty and general practice in South Weymouth, Massachusetts. We are located just 20 minutes south of Boston—within a short drive of the ski slopes of New England in the winter and the beautiful, warm beaches of Cape Cod in the summer.

Day to day responsibilities of the Specialty Medicine Veterinary Technician include:
Pre-anesthetic patient evaluation, anesthesia induction, maintenance and recovery for a variety of procedures
Use, maintenance and troubleshooting of veterinary anesthetic and monitoring equipment such as a ventilator, ECG, Doppler, capnograph and pulse ox.
Familiarity with and ability to calculate and administer anesthetic and other medications
Ability to work alongside board-certified veterinary specialists and emergency clinicians in all aspects of veterinary care including examination, hospitalization, treatment, procedures, and surgery.
Critical thinking and taking an active part in treatment planning and execution.
Interaction with clients and referring veterinarians regarding patient care.
Basic skills in catheter placement, phlebotomy, radiology

Compensation : $18.00 - $30.00 / hour VA - CVT
pay dependent on experience, skill set, and licensure status
