Town of Egremont Alternate Transfer Station Attendant in South Egremont, Massachusetts
The Town of Egremont is seeking applicants for the position of Alternate Transfer Station Attendant. This is a part-time position. The main purpose of this position is overseeing the daily operation of the Transfer Station and Recycling Center by monitoring stickers; making sure all vehicles have one affixed. They will instruct the public as to quality of recycling sort and complete activities of running the transfer station, including compacting recyclables, breaking up materials, moving and reorganizing materials and completing other transfer station activities while help residents as needed. Candidate must have a high school diploma; six months of work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Familiarity with solid waste disposal regulations a plus. Ability to interact with the public tactfully and effectively is a must. No benefits are included in this job.
