Newell Brands Seasonal Panel Coordinator - Yankee Candle in South Deerfield, Massachusetts

Position Title: SeasonalPanel Coordinator

Location: South Deerfield, MA

Reports to: Senior Manager, Fragrance

Job Summary:

Responsible for leading Newell Home Fragrance internal sensory evaluations and claims testing to support product development and in-market products in the Newell Home Fragrance team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interact with Product Engineers and Fragrance evaluation team to ensure clear understanding of project objectives, progress, product tracking, timelines and deliverables.

  • Monitor panelist performance and identify areas for training as needed.

  • Tracking panel performance and providing feedback to panelists.

  • Collecting/ordering and storing products, samples and references as needed for panel testing and training.

  • Assisting Product Engineers as needed to prepare and serve samples to the panel according to instructions.

  • Planning, scheduling, and running assigned panel sessions.

  • Operates, maintains, organizes, and continually develops sensory programs and data through software.

  • Manage sensory data and forward reports to clearly communicate findings to the business.

  • Organizes additional panel recruitment sessions/trainings as required to ensure panel sizes are maintained.

  • Maintains booth cleanliness and equipment checks as required to ensure they function within specifications.

  • With support of the fragrance team, manages sensory SOP’s to ensure all tests are run according to established protocols.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS or BA in Sensory Science or related field, Communications or Market Research.

  • Strong computer skills: MS-Office (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook).

  • Precise and conscientious worker with logical, analytical mind.

  • Ability to work independently as well as with a team.

  • Focus on products, quality and customers.

  • Dynamic, proactive, and flexible with a sense of responsibility.

  • Ability to direct others in a collaborative and productive manner.

  • Strong organizational, written, and oral communication skills

  • Must be able to work in an environment with concentrated scents/ fragrance fumes without sensitivity.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in sensory evaluation or equivalent is a plus.

  • Sensory data collection statistical software (e.g. COMPUSENSE) is a plus.

  • Experience with statistical analysis and reporting.
