SOUTH DEERFIELD SEE WEBSITE FOR FULL JOB DESCRIPTION Master Production Scheduler OVERVIEW Under general direction, performs a variety of complex planning activities required to attain business objectives. Working from the Master Schedule and through the MRP system, schedules operations to meet completion dates, prepares and maintains production schedules, revises schedules, deals with shop floor loading issues, prepares various reports for specific work centers and interfaces with other departments to ensure timely delivery of product. Reviews engineering plans and product specifications to determine material and resource requirements to support manufacturing schedules. Works with Purchasing and Planning to obtain and schedule materials based on production demand driven by customer orders and/or forecast where applicable. WHAT YOU\'LL NEED: Qualifications include: Advanced knowledge of production planning and scheduling procedures, manufacturing processes (including molding and assembly operations) and best practices within a MTS/MTO manufacturing environment. In depth experience utilizing advanced MRP and Excel spreadsheet software. Must have strong verbal and written communication skills in order to organize, compile, and present data in written and/or verbal report format to various levels of Management throughout the organization. Must have advanced level math skills in order to calculate machine capacities and utilization and to determine their impact on production. Must possess leadership skills and the ability to lead cross functional teams and/or projects effectively. Must take a lead role in the training and on boarding activities within the Production Planning department. Must assist the Supply Chain Manager in SI&OP activities. Must serve as an effective backup to the Supply Chain Manager. Must be eligible to receive information controlled under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: BA in Business Administration or related field, BS in Industrial Engineering or related field or 7 - 10 years directly related work experience in a MTS/MTO manufacturing environment. APICS or other accredited Supply Chain certification. WHAT YOU\'LL DO: Working from the Master Schedule and other documents, forecasts material planning and scheduling requirements for various operations required to maintain production objectives to meet the Demand Plan (Customer driven and/or Forecast driven). Schedules various operations so that assigned completion dates are met. Prepares and maintains production schedules so that equipment and labor usage will best fit production demands. Revises schedule as necessitated by changes in production priorities, vendor deliveries, and/or molding and assembly capacities. Works with Molding (Rotational and/or Injection Mold) and Assembly departments regarding shop floor loading. Reviews various reports, including Stock Status, Product Backlog, OTD, Actual vs. Scheduled Assembly, and ad hoc reports for schedules, capacity, etc., using Excel. Maintains schedules of Work Order reports, performs data entry of Work Orders and completions. Provides constant feedback to Sales, Production, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Customer Service and Shipping & Receiving departments. Reviews engineering plans and product specifications to determine raw material and resource requirements to support manufacturing schedules. Works with Purchasing and Planning to obtain and schedule materials based on requirements (Customer Orders and/or Forecast).
