S.E. Mass Educational Collaborative Paraprofessional (Special Educaation) in South Dartmouth, Massachusetts
Statement of Duties Assists teacher with classroom management on a day-to-day basis by providing instruction and assists in the input/development of and implementation of the Individual Education Plan (IEP) goals, assessment and curriculum design, as well as supervision of students and ongoing parent contact. Education and Experience: Minimum Associate\'s degree or equivalent credits; or high school diploma with satisfactory Parapro Test results; experience with students with or without disabilities preferred. Licenses and Certifications Required: Must have a valid Massachusetts driver?s license, School Pupil Transport (7d) License, CPR and First Aid certification, CPI training. Knowledge, Skill and Ability: Knowledge: Practices and procedures of classroom operations, safety precautions, familiarity with the operations of the Massachusetts State Curriculum Frameworks, familiarity with DESE regulations, policies and procedures. Knowledge of FERPA & PII. Skill(s): Clear written and oral communication, strong organization and planning skills. Ability(ies): Clearly and effectively communicate and interact with others, ability to anticipate the needs of students, maintain accurate records and prepare correspondence, maintain confidential information, and provide information and assistance to students. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks, ability to work effectively under time constraints, and strong desire and ability to provide excellent service to students. Desire to work with and support a diverse community of learners and ability to work cooperatively on a multidisciplinary team.
