ABOUT YOU
As Assistant Manager, Gate Operations, you excel in supervising and coordinating daily terminal gate operations, leading union and non-union staff effectively. Your organizational prowess ensures smooth scheduling and personnel management while prioritizing exceptional customer service for steamship lines, truckers, brokers, and government agencies. Safety is paramount under your watch, with a focus on compliance with OSHA, Coast Guard, and other regulations. Your proactive approach to problem-solving and collaboration enhances operational efficiency and supports continuous improvement in Conley Terminal's operations.
What you will do:
Supervise and coordinate day-to-day terminal gate operations, ensuring efficient administrative and operational activities at Conley Terminal.
Provide excellent service to customers, including steamship lines, truckers, brokers, and government agencies.
Manage cost structure, making recommendations to enhance efficiency at Conley Terminal.
Coordinate planning and safety procedures to ensure safe and efficient operations aligned with regulations and Collective Bargaining Agreements.
WHAT YOU OFFER
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marine transportation, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
3+ years’ supervisory and labor relations experience required.
Expertise in Maritime terminal operations, Port of Boston marine terminals, and relevant industry regulations.
Proficiency in Ocean Shipping Reform Act, Customs documentation, and adeptness in leading diverse employee groups, including unions and first-level supervisors.
