The goal of the Agile Business Analyst and Scrum Master role is to act as a bridge between the business and technology teams, ensuring that requirements align with the scope of the project, and working closely with the lead architect, product owner, UX designer, and members of the Digital and CX team. This role is responsible for facilitating Agile ceremonies, creating and maintaining user stories, and supporting the development team in creating and maintaining a realistic project schedule. Additionally, the Agile Business Analyst and Scrum Master will work closely with the lead architect, product owner, UX designer, and members of the Digital, CX, and IT teams to transform requirements into solution designs and coordinate with the quality assurance team to ensure proper test coverage is in place for project requirements. Overall, this role is responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of projects through effective communication, analytical skills, and Agile project management practices.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as liaison between the Business and Technology team, working with business stakeholders, sponsors, and engineering teams to ensure requirements align with the scope for the project

  • Work with the lead architect, UX designer, and members of the Digital, CX, and IT teams to transform business requirements into solution designs

  • Take on the role of Scrum Master, facilitating Agile ceremonies such as Sprint Planning, Daily Scrums, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective

  • Responsible for creating and maintaining user stories, requirements documentation, and project schedule

  • Decompose, refine, and document requirements using appropriate graphical techniques, including user stories, diagrams, process models, functional and technical specifications

  • Monitor and report all project risks and issues; facilitate mitigation and resolution efforts to limit risks; escalate as needed

  • Communicate regularly with engineering and quality assurance teams to ensure accurate understanding of requirements, and coordinate with them to ensure proper test coverage is in place for project requirements

  • Work with the product owner, development team, and stakeholders to identify and define user stories, features, and requirements, set, manage and communicate release plans and/or product roadmaps

  • Ensure that the backlog is well-groomed, up-to-date and clearly prioritized, aligned with the sprint backlog and the definition of done

  • Facilitate backlog grooming and sprint planning meetings, ensure that all stakeholders are aware of the current state of the backlog and upcoming sprints, and identify and mitigate risks associated with the backlog and sprint backlog

  • Identify and report on any backlog and sprint backlog metrics and review them with the team on regular basis to improve the overall process.

    Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Education or experience that demonstrates the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job successfully

  • Experience with business and technical requirements analysis, business process modeling/mapping, methodology development, and user story development

  • 5+ years of experience leading or working in an Agile environment

  • Strong oral and written communications skills

  • Demonstrated effectiveness in a fast-paced rapidly changing environment

  • Strong facilitation skills and excellent organization skills

  • Extensive knowledge of industry standard development methodologies and technologies.
