Robert Half VP/Director of Finance in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts

Description

We are in search of a VP/Director of Finance to join our team in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all accounting, control, and financial compliance functions. They will also be required to manage relationships with lending institutions, vendors, and government agencies, and to maintain fiscal records. This role will also involve supervision over bookkeeping, audits, grant management, and other operating areas that have a financial impact on the school.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and improve systems for monthly and quarterly entry of transactions into Accounting Software Systems.

• Prepare and update long-range financial projections to ensure the school’s financial success.

• Administer the school’s financial plans and policies, and conduct relationships with lending institutions and the financial community.

• Oversee timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual close of financial statements.

• Coordinate and prepare the annual budget and financial forecasts, institute and maintain other planning and control procedures, and analyze and report variances.

• Maintain accurate financial records and prepare quarterly and annual reports related to Medicaid and Unemployment related billings, reimbursements, and claims.

• Supervise staff to ensure invoices are paid on time and that expense/invoice data is entered into accounting software timely and accurately.

• Coordinate with the Director of Human Resources regarding benefits and payroll administration and work with external human resource vendors, as appropriate.

• Prepare financial statements, projections, and other reports monthly for the Leadership Team, the Board of Trustees, the Finance and Audit Committee.

• Ensure that the school receives a clean audit by implementing proper internal controls and financial oversight of accounting processes and transactions.

Requirements • Must hold a VP/Director of Finance role or similar for at least 3 years

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems

• Strong understanding of Accounting Functions

• Experience in Auditing

• Familiarity with Budget Processes

• Proficient in Bank Reconciliations

• Knowledge of US GAAP

• Ability to prepare Monthly Statements

• Experience with Month End Close procedures

• Proficient in Management Reporting

• Experience in Forecasting

• Strong skills in Financial Analysis
