Berkshire Rehab & Skilled Care Center Dietitian in Sandisfield, Massachusetts
We are hiring a Dietitian to join our dynamic care team at Berkshire Rehabilitation & Skilled Care Center in Sandisfield! 8 hours per week and we are flexible on schedule. Weekly pay at \$44 an hour. Working with our team and residents will give you purpose in your professional and personal life. As a Dietitian, you assist in planning, organizing, developing and operation of the Dining Services Department to ensure that quality nutritional services are provided on a daily basis and that the dietary department is maintained in a clean, safe and sanitary manner. Education and Experience: - Must possess as a minimum, a Bachelor\'s Degree in Dietetics from an accredited college or university. - Must possess a current registration as dietician by the Committee of Dietetic Registration. - A minimum one (1) year experience in a supervisory capacity in a hospital, skilled nursing care facility or other related medical facility preferred. - Training in cost control, food management, diet therapy, etc., preferred. - New graduates welcome! Duties and Responsibilities: - Meet sanitation standards. - Must be able to provide point of service meal delivery. - Follow therapeutic diets guidelines, including proper temperature and serving time. - Educate department staff in all aspects of dietary functions. - Assure the planning, preparation and serving of all therapeutic diets. - Oversee that sufficient inventory is maintained according to policy and procedure including emergency supply. - Formulate menu planning within accepted therapeutic guidelines. - Assure that menus are accurately adhered to and appropriate substitutes are made per policy. - Ensure quality and quantity of all food delivery. - Demonstrate correct safety techniques. - Is knowledgeable in and ensures staff comply with privacy practices to protect residents\' health information. Specific Requirements: - Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language. - Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action. - Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public. - Must be knowledgeable of dining service procedures as well as related laws, regulations and guidelines governing dietary functions in the long-term care facility. - Must possess leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise professional and non-professional personnel. - Must have the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, procedures, etc., of the Dining Service Department. - Must maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, etc., and maintain the appearance of the dining service areas; must perform regular inspections of dietary services areas for sanitation, order, safety and proper performance of assigned duties. - Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm as well as be willing to handle residents based on whatever maturity level they are currently functioning. - Must be able to read and interpret dietary cost reports, financial data, etc. - Must be able to relate information concerning the resident\'s condition. - Must participate in planning and conducting inservice educational programs.
