Town of Yarmouth Finance Technician in S Yarmouth, Massachusetts

The Town of Yarmouth seeks a high achiever to join our Finance Department team. This position performs responsible, skilled accounting and administrative work of more than ordinary difficulty in processing payroll and other financial transactions, in the maintaining of financial records and accounts, and in supporting the operations of a department; all other related work as required. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Performs varied and responsible duties in processing financial transactions requiring the use of Financial Management Software Systems (FMS) and other software applications. Requires a thorough knowledge of accounting principles, the Town's financial procedures and of a sophisticated database application. Requires broad knowledge of office operations and the exercise of judgment in addressing internal and external customers. Essential functions include being able to performs all duties in the Accounting, Assessing, Collector/Treasury and Town Clerks divisions. The divisions of the Finance Department process a high volume of work requiring speed and accuracy and adherence to strict deadlines. RECOMMENDED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Associates degree in business, accounting, computer science or related field.
