North River Collaborative Job Coach in Rockland, Massachusetts
Job Coach QUALIFICATIONS: 1. High School Diploma 2. Associates and/or Bachelors Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field preferred but not required 3. Previous experience with students or adults with special needs within a community or classroom setting 4. Ability to work with and supervise students in both classroom/instructional settings and in the community 5. Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of people (vocational site employers, students, and parents) 6. Willingness to attend Job Coach training 7. Current Massachusetts 7-D License (training available upon hire) RESPONSIBILITIES: A. WORKSITES/CLASSROOM 1. Provide supervision of students to ensure their health and safety 2. Monitor and assess students according to skills outlined on individual job performance sheets and their individualized education programs 3. Provide training and assistance to students during community outings and at job sites, which may require assistance with lifting approximately 30-50 pounds. 4. Maintain organized daily charts, records, and/or logs related to student performance 5. Implement behavioral plans as needed 6. Assist in task analysis of new jobs at worksites 7. Ability to respond quickly and physically assist students during any emergency drills and actual emergencies 8. Assist Teacher and/or Program Coordinator with career interest inventories 9. Assist in matching students with jobs based on interests and abilities through a person-centered planning and strengths-based model 10. Provide employers with pertinent student information 11. Provide Teacher and/or Program Coordinator with verbal and written feedback regarding student progress 12. Transport students or arrange for transportation for students to community sites or worksites if necessary 13. Maintain professional interactions with students and employers 14. Abide by policies as outlined in the North River Collaborative Personnel Policies and Procedures Handbook
