Rockland Federal Credit Union (RFCU) is searching for an experienced, service-driven AVP-Controller to help lead our successful Corporate Finance team. Under the general direction of the VP/Corporate Finance, performs a variety of duties necessary to ensure the effective operation of the Corporate Finance Department in conformance with established policies and procedures of Rockland Federal Credit Union. A summary of responsibilities is below: Manages assigned personnel by resolving routine personnel issues, assigning work, providing training and guidance, reviewing performance, and making salary recommendations. Serves as a resource and role model to junior team members, fostering growth and contributing to a positive organizational culture; Offers support and serves as a back-up to the VP/Finance, aiding in the execution of those responsibilities when required; Prepares the Credit Union\'s financial statements in accordance with GAAP, conducting month-end and year-end closings, prepares and filing regulatory reports. Works with the Treasurer to complete and develop board reports; Manages the Accounts Payable function. Reviews and approves Credit Union expenditures according to policy; Serves as a member of the Asset Liability Committee. Provides information, analysis, and recommendations for effective asset/liability management; Responsible for the general ledger. Ensures accurate posting to general ledger by reviewing accounting transactions and making corrections as necessary. Oversees the general ledger reconciliation process according to policy; Ensures all accounting activities are in compliance with established legal, regulatory, and Credit Union procedures; Other duties as assigned. A complete job description is available upon request The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor\'s degree in accounting or finance with at least 5 years\' experience in a financial and management setting, preferably in a credit union environment. Self-starter with the ability to analyze data and effectively problem solve. Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to effectively coach and motivate a team. Understands proper GL structure and how to build accounting processes. Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate with employees at all levels of the organization.
