Kelly Services is currently looking to hire an ENGINEERING PROJECT MANAGER to support our client, a leader in the medical device industry. This position can sit at either their site in Warsaw, IN, Downtown Boston, Raynham, MA OR Mansfield, MA. This is a long term contract opportunity, approved through the end of 2020, but expected to be extended beyond that term, that also offer benefits including PTO, paid sick time and 401k contribution. The Project Manager leads the project teams through project activities related to new product development. These activities include but are not limited to: new product development and line extensions, planning and manufacturing, deployment and inventory retrieval and documentation processes regarding product and portfolio strategy and management.

The Project Manager will lead the project execution of product development activities, including establishing key performance indicators, performance metrics and risk mitigation activities. Key responsibilities of the Project Manager include:

  • Develop project plans (including budget) and coordinate with project and extended team members, assuring alignment on the strategy and appropriate resourcing required of project execution.

  • Develop project metrics to align with supporting stakeholder bodies within Franchise, Sector and other Transformation bodies. Metrics will ensure transparency and accountability of supporting efforts.

  • Manage project risk through comprehensive mitigation assessment and planning techniques.

  • Drive effective communication across the functions of R&D, Quality, Regulatory, Operations and Marketing to ensure successful collaboration and execution.

  • Schedule and lead regular project team meetings and also determine the objectives and measures upon which the project will be evaluated at its completion.

  • Contribute to the decision making in key areas of portfolio lifecycle management, including financial, project planning, and human resources.

  • Ensure project execution is compliant with franchise training and the Quality System requirements, enabling training and certifications as necessary to release products in various global markets.

  • Support development of enterprise policies and procedures that govern future portfolio development and lifecycle management principles.

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in Engineering, Master’s degree or MBA preferred

  • A minimum of 10 years of professional experience in highly regulated area is required

  • Medical devices and/or orthopedic experience is preferred

  • Experience with full project life cycle management is required

  • Experience with Project Management methodologies (e.g., PMX) is required, PMP Certification preferred

  • Experience managing financial and budgetary aspects of projects, including business case and portfolio management required

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills are required

  • Must have strong leadership skills

  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks and manage a varied workload

  • Experience in new product development, manufacturing and/or supply chain function is preferred

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite is required

  • Demonstrated collaboration and communication skills in both team and management review environments are critical for success in this position. He/she will need to effectively navigate in a matrix global organization and leverage relationships with key business stakeholders to deliver tangible results, communicate needs and issues to drive customer-focused solutions. To ensure timely execution of project objectives, the candidate must have strong problem-solving skills, initiative and the ability to provide efficient escalation of issues to the appropriate accountable party.

  • Demonstrated successful experience with project management and the ability to manage employees, lead teams and influence others is crucial for this position. The ability to function in a multi-cultural global environment, strong data analysis skills and capability to provide clear presentation of data are also critical skills for this position.
