Robert Half Technical Writer (IT) - Advanced in Quincy, Massachusetts

Description

We are in search of a Tech Writer based in Quincy, Massachusetts. The role primarily revolves around working closely with system analysts and programmers to write and edit program documentation, user manuals, training courses, and procedures. This is a contract position in the telecom industry that requires a blend of technical acumen and communication skills.

Responsibilities:

• Directly collaborate with system analysts and programmers to create and revise program and system documentation

• Develop user manuals, training courses, and procedures that are easy to comprehend

• Conduct detailed research about the product through interviewing subject matter experts, reviewing existing documentation, and utilizing the application

• Author end-user documentation, ensuring its accuracy and comprehensibility

• Edit documentation projects, including copy pre-press and accuracy editing

• Develop a communication strategy for the team to ensure efficient information flow

• Implement process engineering and re-engineering to maintain a documentation hub for new releases, reviews, and periodic refresh

• Utilize tools like SharePoint, Jira, Confluence, and MS Office 365 applications including MS Teams for efficient documentation and communication

• Collaborate effectively with key stakeholders and cross-functional teams to achieve documentation objectives

• Stay updated on latest tools and technologies and implement them as required.

Requirements • Demonstrated competence in quality assurance methodologies and best practices

• Exceptional communication skills for effective collaboration with stakeholders

• Proficiency in documentation, procedures, and research

• Knowledge of production and engineering principles

• Ability to conduct interviews and editing tasks efficiently

• Familiarity with JIRA, MS Office 365, Microsoft Teams, and SharePoint Administration

• Experience with release process management

• Ability to facilitate and conduct training courses

• Proficient in using Confluence for technical documentation

• Ability to work with subject matter experts and pre-press teams

• Experience in developing communication strategies

• Ability to create user manuals and user documentation

• Skills in re-engineering processes for efficiency and effectiveness
