National Fire Protection Association Senior Building Operations Assistant in Quincy, Massachusetts

It is an exciting and empowering time to work at NFPA. NFPA is looking to hire a Senior Building Operations Assistant to join the team! This role contributes to NFPA\'s Mission, Vision, and Strategic initiatives by by conducting and facilitating daily activities for the operation and maintenance of building and grounds. The Senior Building Operations Assistant independently oversees the operation and maintenance of multiple buildings within the office park and NFPA\'s Avon location. PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES - Building Maintenance and Operation - Maintain and oversee the daily operations of all building systems for buildings within the office park; including, but not limited to, mechanical HVAC, electrical, plumbing, architectural, building envelope, structural, roofing, life safety and Siemens Building Management System - Maintain compliance with all codes, standards and statutes used in regard to operation of all building systems at NFPA owned properties in Quincy and Avon - Responsible for the implementation, completion and follow up of work requests and preventative maintenance for buildings within the office park - Oversee the work of all building contractors in buildings within the office park by coordinating and monitoring all work, visits, tasks and repairs - On call for building emergencies during and outside of regular work hours Requirements ? High school graduate or equivalent; 5 - 10 years related work experience, technical school preferred ? Valid Class A driver\'s license ? Flexibility is required with regard to working hours ? Proficiency in Microsoft Office ? Must have own transportation WORKING CONDITIONS 1. Work Environment: Must be able to lift a minimum of 70lbs, must be capable of safely using hand and power tools, travel required up to 10% of the time, must work in areas with risk of electrical shock part of the time, wet or humid conditions (non-weather), work near moving mechanical parts, work in high, precarious places(roof), outdoor weather conditions, extreme cold (non-weather), extreme heat (non-weather), confined spaces, moving objects/equipment 2. Physical Demands: Stand, Sit, Walk, Use hands to finger, handle or feel, Reach with hands and arms, Carry, Climb or balance, Stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, Bend, twist or squat, Use of feet/legs to control equipment, Simultaneous use of hands, wrists and fingers, Drive or operate machinery.
