The Role: SOAR Automation Developer Sr., Cyber Security

The Team: You will be part of the Security Automation team which is responsible for automating security solutions to protect S&P Global data & IT systems.

The Impact: As a Security Automation SOAR Engineer, you will play a crucial role in enhancing and maintaining our security infrastructure by developing and implementing automated security workflows, incident response processes, and threat intelligence integration.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain knowledge and understanding of current and emerging SOAR practices and standards.

  • Assist with process development and process improvement/automation for Security Operations to include creation/modification of Playbooks and its SOPs.

  • Integrate SOAR platform with other security tools and APIs to execute automated workflows Author, test, and maintain automation scripts/workflows within SOAR platform.

  • Automate Security Incident Response processes by providing the ability to analyze and resolve alerts from existing security tools leveraging a single stream management system.

  • Integrate threat intelligence feeds and data sources into the SOAR platform to enhance incident detection and response capabilities.

  • Conduct complete testing, tuning, code base version control and documentation of security automation workflows.

  • Monitor and analyze security automation performance metrics, provide reports, and recommend improvements.

  • Perform peer reviews to identify potentially problematic automations and operating processes.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Security, or a related field. Cyber security certifications like CEH, Sec+ are a plus.

  • Proven experience working as a Security Automation SOAR Engineer using platforms like Splunk Phantom, Swimlane, etc. or in a similar role.

  • Strong understanding of security operations, incident response, and threat intelligence concepts.

  • Proficiency in scripting and programming languages such as Python, JavaScript etc. Excellent understanding of Data structures and Algorithms. Must be able to come up new logic and custom scripts that run efficiently and accurately.

  • Familiarity with security technologies and tools including SIEM, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, firewalls, vulnerability scanners and ticketing tools like ServiceNow, BMC etc.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

  • Knowledge of cloud security and DevSecOps. Knowledge of AWS Infra like Docker, containers, Terraform, etc.

  • Process oriented individual who follows SDLC with thorough testing, documentation, approval, deployment, and maintenance process.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or master’s in computers, IT or equivalent experience.

  • Min 5+ years proven experience in Security automation & scripting.

Compensation/Benefits Information (US Applicants Only):

S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $80,000 to $130,000. Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location.

In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan. This role is not eligible for additional compensation such as an annual incentive bonus or sales commission plan.
