Job title: Youth Advocate IPay: $21.76 / hourLocation: Plymouth Full Time, 40 hours per week with two consecutive days off Schedules Available:
Saturday- Wednesday 7am -3pm (Thursday and Friday Off)

Eliot is seeking passionate, compassionate, service-oriented individuals to work in a staff secure setting with youth in the Department of Youth Services' care. This position provides a great opportunity to positively influence a youth’s life by being a patient and supportive caregiver. The role is multifaceted and includes teaching, limit setting, advocating, coordinating care, and serving as a role model and mentor. Work as part of a dedicated team to make a difference in a youth’s life. This entry-level position is a terrific way for those interested in careers in human services or education to develop their skills and gain relevant experience working with youth.
Responsibilities:
Engage actively with youth in a participatory and positive, strength based manner.
Use principles and practices of youth development and trauma informed care to create a safe and therapeutic environment.
Promote an inclusive, welcoming, and respectful environment that embraces diversity.
Foster the youth’s skills and interests and mentor their positive development.
Implement program activities and maintain safe and effective program operations.
Promote responsible and healthy decision-making among youth.
Complete necessary paperwork and reporting requirements.
Act in an ethical and professional manner, and maintain clear boundaries with youth, co-workers and supervisor(s).
Implement applicable safety and emergency requirements including use of crisis prevention and de-escalation skills.
