Per Diem; varied hours/shifts according to operational needs
Under the direction of Sr. Director of Clinical Services, serves as a medical interpreter.
Assists with interpreter services in order to meet hospital’s commitment to providing such services.
Answers telephone in an accurately and timely manner that is consistent with customer service standards.
Ensures organizational compliance with interpreter services requirements.
Sign Language responsibilities based on experience; the interpreter facilitates communication through use of sign language.

Proven ability to problem solve and organize information independently.
Excellent interpersonal skills; must be comfortable and effective at coordinating communication with patients and families for whom English is not their primary language.
Extensive knowledge of medical terminology, data collection, health privacy regulations, etc.
Ability to type at 40 WPM, demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access.
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
American Sign Language Interpreter experience preferred.
