Berkshire Health Systems Urology Ultrasound Technician in Pittsfield, Massachusetts
DEFINITION/PRIMARY FUNCTION
Perform a wide variety of Ultrasound examinations including OR cases in a high volume/procedural physician office. Requires initiative to obtain required radiographs to facilitate diagnosis. Proper care of the patient in accordance with the departmental and hospital policies and procedures is required. May be assigned independent responsibilities by the direct supervisor or additional supervisor. Must be able to work independently to obtain images. Must have working knowledge of PACs and hospital information systems.
May be required to work outside of scheduled office hours to accommodate OR cases.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum qualifications are required unless stated otherwise.)
Experience:
Minimum 3 years' experience Ultrasonographer preferred
Must be registered or ARDMS or ARRT registry eligible
Education and Training:
Must have completed approved Diagnostic Sonography Technology Program.
Additional registration and state license as a diagnostic technologist preferred
License, Certification & Registration:
MALIC - Mass Radiography License.
ARRT(S)/ARDMS - Registered Sonographer through ARRT or ARDMS within 2 years of employment.
CPR - CPR is required.
Other Requirements:
Must be proficient in urological studies and obtaining images using portable equipment.
Must be familiar with sterile technique and set up of sterile trays.
Ability to function independently and proficiently.
Must be able to move and lift patients, equipment, and supplies on a regular basis.
Ability to function in a high stress, work intensive environment.
