Sound Technician (A2) Barrington Stage Company, an award-winning professional theatre company located in the heart of the Berkshires, is seeking a Sound Technician to join our team in Pittsfield, MA for our 2025 season. This position requires a passionate individual, with knowledge of theatrical sound systems that is able to work with a team to reach the artistic goals of the production. Responsibilities: - Provide audio support for all BSC productions and events throughout the 2025 season - Provide audio support for additional BSC events such as concerts and cabarets when required - Assist with the installation of seasonal sound systems in the theatres as well as hanging the individual show sound plots including but not limited to speaker placement, mic setups, and cable runs. - Assist with setting up rehearsal studio sound systems as needed - Assist with pre-show checks and post-show procedures for all audio equipment, including assisted listening systems, backstage monitors, house and backstage paging systems, cue lights, headsets, video cameras, and monitors - Assist actors with getting into and out of wireless mics as necessary - Build and maintain wireless mic rigs for the actors as needed - Keep the sound storage areas clean and organized - Assist in maintaining and updating audio inventories Skills: - Strong communication, organizational and time management skills - Knowledge of theatrical sound systems and equipment including mixing consoles, speakers, microphones, amplifiers, EQ, and processing gear - Experience putting wireless microphones on actors and maintaining wireless mics during performances - Knowledge of theatrical audio software such as Qlab and Dante preferred - Ability to work as part of a team but also take on individual responsibilities - Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and comfortable working at heights This position reports to the Audio Supervisor. It is a full-time, seasonal position Contract: 5/5/2025 through 8/31/2025 Pay is \$821.15 per week, non-exempt, with overtime starting at 50 hours and housing available.
