Servicenet Shelter Counselors - Direct Care in Pittsfield, Massachusetts

Shelter and Housing Division. Fulltime, Part-time, and Per-Diem \$18.00/hr POSITION SUMMARY: Be part of a team that creates a warm, welcoming place for parents and children in need. As a Shelter Counselor, you\'ll play a key role in helping families feel safe and supported as they work towards finding permanent housing. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: - Help create a cozy, home-like environment where everyone feels cared for. - Support families by assisting with everyday tasks, teaching life skills, and offering guidance. - Write simple notes to track the progress of each family. - Attend team meetings to share ideas and learn from others. - Make sure the shelter\'s rules are followed to keep everyone safe and on track. QUALIFICATIONS: - Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply! - Experience working with people living on a low income, or who are affected by mental health issues and/or addiction. - Proficiency across the following skills: verbal and written communication, collaboration, organization, and use of computer and technology.
