Properties Artisan Barrington Stage Company, an award-winning professional theatre company located in the heart of the Berkshires, is seeking two Properties Artisans to join our team in Pittsfield, MA for the 2025 season. This position works on creating, modifying, and procuring props as needed for productions on our Boyd-Quinson Stage and St Germain Stage. This position requires a skilled artisan with a working knowledge of props creation techniques, with the willingness to work as part of a team and follow through on individual projects. Responsibilities: Assist in the construction or procurement of all needed theatrical properties for all of BSC\'s 2025 season\'s productions and events, alongside the Properties Supervisor Accurately execute designs by interpreting the stylistic intent to best recreate the design in full scale and produce work of the highest artistic standards Assist in providing stand-in rehearsal props to each production throughout the rehearsal process Work with the Properties Supervisor to input new props in the properties inventory Use properties shop tools and equipment appropriately Assist in the general maintenance of properties tools and equipment Keep the properties shop and storage areas clean and organized throughout the season Assist in maintaining and updating properties inventory throughout the season Participate in load-in and strike of properties for all productions and events throughout the season Skills: Proficient in photoshop and the creation of paper props Proficient in sewing techniques and carpentry skills Experience with basic scenic painting techniques Working knowledge of welding and upholstery helpful. Knowledge of mold-making and casting techniques useful. Knowledge of Puppetry construction is a plus Knowledge of furniture history and period Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and comfortable working at heights This position reports to the Properties Supervisor. It is a full-time, seasonal position. Contract A: 4/21/2025 through 7/27/2024 Pay is \$746.15 per week non-exempt, Overtime is available after 45 hours, with housing included.
