Berkshire Health Systems Office Coordinator in Pittsfield, Massachusetts

  • DEFINITION/PRIMARY FUNCTION

  • The BFS Office Coordinator is a member of the Berkshire Faculty Physician Services team. He/she will function under the direct supervision of the Practice Administrator. He/she is responsible for the oversight, coordination and performance of all practice administrative duties, medical assisting, clerical, registration, reception, medical record management and oversight of on site charge entry duties. The Office Coordinator will offer on site supervision at a designated physician practice; of all day to day operations with any administrative decisions being determined by the Practice Administrator.

  • POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum qualifications are required unless stated otherwise.)

  • Experience:

  • 2 years physician practice experience in a busy office setting

  • Outstanding customer service skills required

  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology

  • Excellent clerical and organizational skills required

  • Medical Assisting experience required

  • Physician billing/charge entry experience desirable

  • Supervisory experience preferred

  • Flexible hours required to cover for staff and Practice Administrator vacations and earned time absences.

  • Education and Training:

  • High School diploma. Associates Degree preferred

  • License, Certification & Registration:

  • N/A

  • Other Requirements:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with proven ability and experience dealing with agitated/dissatisfied patients, families and physicians. Ability to assume a leadership role within the practice and lead staff to service excellence. Ability to work effectively and independently under pressure in a fast paced environment with minimal supervision. Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks throughout the work day. Demonstrated competency in handling confidential and sensitive information.
