Guardian Life Insurance Company Disability Claims Specialist in Pittsfield, Massachusetts

This role will be located in either Bethlehem, PA or Pittsfield, MA. The position will be a full-time hybrid role, requiring three days in-office and two days remote. In the role, you will - Work within a team providing strong customer service making timely, but thoughtful decisions to achieve a claim determination - Review policy language, medical, financial and other claim documentation - Work within a team driven and customer focused environment - Maintain composure and direction in high pressure situations - Participate in JEDI (justice, equity, diversity & inclusion) programming to support our commitment to expanding mindsets, changing behaviors, and holding ourselves accountable to inspiring well-being - Develop and enhance your communication skills to meet the customer\'s needs, while demonstrating empathy, flexibility, responsiveness, and an action-oriented approach - Develop critical thinking to issue spot, identify resources needed to assist in making claim determinations while applying factual information provided by the customer to the policy to assess eligibility You have - A college or university degree, or high school diploma with prior relevant work experience - Experience and an interest in providing quality customer service - Strong analytical skills, with attention to detail - Strong written and verbal communication skills - Ability to prioritize with competing deadlines - Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook Location The primary office locations for this position are Pittsfield, MA and Bethlehem, PA with occasional travel to meet business needs. During training, you may be required to travel to our Pittsfield, MA office (Guardian will reimburse for travel expenses). The position will be a full-time hybrid role, requiring three days in-office and two days remote. Salary Range \$39,370.00 - \$65,610.00 The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
