Job Description:

Converge , a subsidiary of Arrow Electronics, is a full service, industry-leading, global supply chain partner with over 40 years of experience in electronics components distribution. Counterfeit electronic components have infiltrated and are wreaking havoc in the supply chain at all levels.

We are recruiting to hire a Senior Technical Engineering Lead . In this individual contributor role, the Senior Technical Engineering Lead will be on-boarded and act as the resident expert in ensuring that our state of the art Hi-Reliability and Counterfeit Mitigation Lab is consistently functioning at peak performance in accordance with our business purpose.

This individual will also ensure that our Component Quality Engineers are properly trained in the use of all lab, destructive and non-destructive inspection equipment and processes including but not limited to the following:

C-SAM, SEM with EDS, Profile Projector / Optical Comparator, Solderability Testing, XRF, X-Ray, Curve Trace, LCR Meter and various de-capsulation and marking permanency methodologies.

This position will also require the ability to analyze, interpret the results of these inspections and provide comprehensive technical feedback as to how these results directly apply to the needs of our business in the counterfeit electronic component mitigation landscape.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • The Senior Technical Engineering Lead is responsible for the complete and overall performance of the equipment in the lab. This individual must have the ability understand, utilize, and maintain various complex types of electronic test and laboratory equipment to include but not limited to: C-SAM, SEM with EDS, Profile Projector / Optical Comparator, Solderability Testing, XRF, X-Ray, Curve Trace, LCR Meter and various de-capsulation and marking permanency methodologies.

  • Work with the manufacturers of the equipment to ensure it is consistently operating at peak performance and that is maintained in accordance with manufacturers recommendations.

  • Interpret the inspection and test results and provide comprehensive feedback on how those results apply to our business.

  • Retain the technical aptitude to answer to and solve complex technical questions and problems from both internal and external customers as they relate to the performance and functionality of various types of semiconductors and electronic components.

  • Ensures the test lab and all associated equipment is maintained, clean and consistently operating at peak performance

  • Works with Business Operations to ensure all engineers are properly trained and re-trained as required.

  • Makes recommendations based on test results on the proper disposition of components that have completed testing and analysis

  • Liaise with various stakeholders at all levels with respect to inspection results

  • Acts as the key expert and knowledge base in responding to complex technical inquiries regarding the design, fit and functionality of various types of semiconductors and electronic components

  • Makes recommendations with respect to new methodologies, technology, equipment, and processes to improve the purpose and output of the lab.

What We're Looking For:

  • 5+ years of related experience in Semiconductor Assembly/Packaging, Component Quality and Counterfeit Component Mitigation

  • Experience working in a Front of Line (FOL) and/or End of Line (EOL) capacity.

  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or related.

  • Ability to identify counterfeit components down to the manufacturer/supplier level and provide detailed analysis of the defect.

  • Knowledge of die attach, wire bonding, 2nd/3rd optical inspection, molding, plating, marking, trim & form, and/or coplanarity.

  • Ability to train and mentor various junior engineers on lab equipment and analyzing test results

Even Better if You Have:

  • Experience with ISO 17025 or ISO17020 Certifications
