Gibson Engineering, a leading solutions provider for world-class manufacturers of industrial automation products and services and subsidiary of Applied Industrial Technologies is currently recruiting for a Staff Accountant.

The Accountant supports the Accounting and Finance Manager with tasks related to internal and corporate reporting, banking activities, and AP& AR processes.


  • Assist in all financial month close activities.

  • Help in preparing monthly trial balance and internal management reports.

  • Support in the financial reporting both for internal and corporate requirements.

  • Prepare, and submit for processing, monthly commission reports for sales reps.

  • Assist in reviewing vendor invoices, including reconciling any differences in invoiced versus received values. Approve for payment.

  • Assist in resolving discrepancies in customer payments versus amounts invoiced.

  • Prepare and submit monthly Sales Tax remittance.

  • Support Accounting and Finance Manager in preparing and processing journal entries and expense report submissions.

  • Generate daily transactions report for management.

  • Monitor bank activity and reconcile cash and ledger accounts.

  • Monitor and follow-up on open transactions such as RMAs.

  • Assist with inventory management, reviewing adjustments and cycle count results.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and 3+ years’ experience working in an Accounting/Finance role

  • Working knowledge of general ledger accounting, AR and AP functions

  • High level of computer skills including effective use of emails applications, word processing, spreadsheets, and business reporting tools.

  • Able to write reports and business correspondence.

  • Able to communicate effectively with coworkers and internal and external customers.

  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills.

  • Understanding confidentiality and ethical standards

  • Conscientious about timeliness of assignments and quality of work product

  • Able to handle multiple tasks and maintain control and order over same
