The Purchasing Agent is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing goods, materials, and services to ensure the company\'s operational needs are met. This includes managing supplier relationships, maintaining optimal inventory levels, and ensuring that purchases align with quality standards, budget constraints, and delivery timelines. Key Responsibilities \ Supplier Sourcing and Management \ Identify and evaluate potential suppliers based on quality, cost, and reliability. \ Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential suppliers. \ Conduct regular supplier performance reviews and address any issues. Procurement Process \ Prepare and process purchase orders and requisitions. \ Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to achieve the best value. \ Performs international importing of materials. \ Ensure timely delivery of goods and services. Inventory Management \ Monitor inventory levels to prevent overstocking or stockouts. \ Coordinate with warehouse or operations teams to manage incoming deliveries. Compliance and Documentation \ Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and regulations. \ Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier agreements. Cost Analysis and Budgeting \ Analyze market trends to anticipate price fluctuations. \ Assist in developing procurement budgets and cost-saving strategies. Collaboration \ Work closely with internal departments (e.g., operations, finance, and production) to identify purchasing needs. \ Provide updates on procurement status and address any issues impacting business operations. Required Qualifications \ Education: Bachelor?s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Experience: \ 2-5 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management. \ Familiarity with purchasing in a Manufacturing setting. \ Knowledge of international import/export regulations. Skills \ Strong negotiation and communication skills. \ Proficiency in procurement software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite. \ Excellent organizational and time-management abilities. \ Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques. \ Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions. Preferred Qualifications \ Certification in supply chain management or procurement (e.g., Certified Purchasing Professional, Certified Professional in Supply Management - CPSM, CPIM) \ Experience with sustainable or ethical sourcing practices. Work Environment \ May require occasional travel to attend trade shows or supplier meetings. \ Primarily in-office-based. No remote work. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) \ Cost savings achieved through effective negotiations. \ Supplier delivery performance and reliability. \ Inventory turnover rates and stock availability. \ Compliance with procurement budgets and policies.
