Lifeguards - Musante Beach Location: Recreation Department, Northampton, MA 01060 Department: Recreation Job Status: Part-Time Days: Sun., Mon., Tue., Wed., Thu., Fri., Sat. Rate of Pay: \$17.10 - DEFINITION The Parks & Recreation Department is seeking Lifeguards for Musant Beach! The position includes putting buoys out, opening and closing of facility, lifeguarding duties, enforce rules and regulations, greet customers and answer questions, meeting with supervisors and reporting issues with staff, equipment and facility, collection and daily consolidation of fees. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Daily Prep for opening, lifeguard duties at Musante Beach, management of patrons during weather events. May handle money for fees. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Details - 20 hours per week. Part-time schedules with some variations in hours to accommodate trips and special events. Lifeguards have weekend hours. Qualifications Preferred - Current certifications required CPR First Aid Lifeguard Certification Must be reliable, friendly, responsible and customer service oriented Must be at least 16 Years old PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Must be able to swim May need to lift items up to 20 lbs. Ability to see patrons in the water Ability to work and be vigilant in the hot sun. MISC. INFORMATION Musante Beach opens in late May and operates until Labor Day.
