The Center for New Americans Immigration Paralegal in Northampton, Massachusetts

Immigration Paralegal Center for New Americans seeks an experienced Immigration Paralegal for a full-time position (37.5 hours/week 52 weeks/year). Responsibilities include the provision of immigration legal services as well as some administration and supervision of other colleagues under the guidance of the Immigration Attorney. The immigration paralegal will be responsible for working with the Staff Attorney on all aspects of preparing and filing immigration cases for Center for New Americans? Citizenship and Immigration Program. Tasks will involve assisting clients to apply for a variety of citizenship and immigration related benefits, including but not limited to humanitarian relief such as asylum, family petitions, adjustment of status, consular process, TPS, advanced parole/travel documents, replacement green cards, fee waivers, and work authorization. The paralegal will also review staff assignments weekly to ensure compliance with legal department protocols and timely responses to constituents. The position requires drafting letters, completing forms, collecting and compiling all necessary documents; and continuous communication with clients from initial intake through completion of applications, to interview and/or decision. The following position requirements are non-negotiable: paralegal experience; knowledge of and some experience with immigration processes; strong proficiency/fluency in Spanish.
