Smith College Assistant Director of Alumnae Engagement in Northampton, Massachusetts
NORTHAMPTON PLEASE SEE WEBSITE FOR FULL JOB DESCRIPTION Job Summary Under the direction of the Director of Alumnae Engagement, the Assistant Director of Alumnae Engagement leads project management work and administrative implementation of volunteer stewardship projects and reunion programs. Responsible for planning an annual volunteer stewardship/enrichment event off campus. Works closely with the Assistant Director for Reunions to carry forward substantial components of the reunion project. Refines and confirms logistical details and communications related to reunion meals, class and college programs, and required program resources. Refines and confirms logistical details related to all Volunteer Stewardship resources, events, programs and gifts. Take appropriate actions to support a diverse workforce and participate in the College\'s efforts to create a respectful, inclusive, and welcoming work environment. Minimum Qualifications (knowledge, skills, education, experience, certifications, licenses) Bachelor\'s degree plus a minimum of 2-4 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education/experience. Experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Preferred Qualifications Experience with project management and event planning/ implementation. Experience with volunteer management. Experience working with diverse groups. Skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent computer skills and organizational skills. Excellent customer service while interacting effectively with a diverse population including alumnae, students, faculty, staff and outside vendors. Must be able to maintain confidentiality, work under pressure and be flexible. Must possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, be able to prioritize work effectively, take initiative and solve problems. Willingness to work occasional overtime with evenings and weekends (approximately 5 weekends per year). Must be comfortable with technology and willing to learn emerging technologies as necessary. Proficient use of Microsoft Office suite, CRM systems, and video conferencing. Experience with Salesforce and Zoom a plus. Action-oriented, entrepreneurial, flexible, and innovative. Able to function as a team player in a fast-paced and results-driven environment. Ability to interact and work effectively and collaboratively across a complex organization and with a wide range of constituencies. Must demonstrate excellent judgement and be able to represent the college appropriately. Additional Information Occasional weekend and evening work and occasional travel will be required.
