Opportunity Overview
The Director of DC and Power Hardware will be based in Massachusetts and report to the Senior Director of Hardware Product Engineering. They will lead the development and delivery of DC instruments and power systems for semiconductor test and characterization. The role encompasses leading an organization in the specification, systems and circuit design, and product development of complex DC instruments, signal and power delivery to the device under test and common infrastructure of the semiconductor test system including power systems and DC calibration.
The person that fills this role will lead a team of hardware managers and engineers, located primarily in Massachusetts and Costa Rica. They will work cross functionally with software, mechanical and manufacturing engineering to design high quality / state of the art test and measurement instruments and systems. As a member of the hardware leadership team, this person will interact with other leaders and drive activities to further engineering innovation, process and methods across the Semiconductor Test Division.
The position will be accountable for the following:
Leadership of a team of managers and individuals responsible for the development of DC test instruments and DC power systems and components
Involvement with all phases of product development: roadmaps, architectures, systems design, product design and verification to production release
Hiring, mentoring, and retaining engineering staff
Ensuring the staffing, skill and capacity is in place to execute on commitments
Ownership of the strategic direction of the DC hardware development
Ensuring products meet requirements and are on schedule
Driving state of the art development methods, tools and processes including co-simulation of digital and analog design.
Active participation and leadership in the definition of roadmaps, new system concepts and designs. Engagement with customers of DC products
Engagement with industry for timely, differentiated and cost-conscious technology development needed for differentiated product developments (ex. custom ASIC and ASSP).
Drive and maintain high-level engineering relationships with development partners
Negotiating deliverables with customers and key partners
Ensuring, maintaining and furthering that product development processes as well as championing the advancement of new processes and methods
Maintaining a collaborative cross-functional working environment with the product management office, manufacturing, new product introduction, and other engineering disciplines such as software, mechanical, and systems engineering.
Active engagement as part of the hardware leadership team to further the hardware product engineering team

The ideal candidate will be a senior manager with 10+ years of experience leading product development of analog and power instrument products. They will have been involved in design and development for a “tier 1” company, developing high reliability and high quality products, using state of the art methods and best practices in the product development processes.
MSEE preferred/BSEE required
10+ years of experience as a manager and project leader for the development of analog and power instrument products
Proven track record of delivering complex designs to manufacturing and product availability, with end-to-end development cycle ownership
Demonstrated experience in the development of complex board level products utilizing ASSP and custom ASIC based devices,
Experience with disciplines including PCB CAD, FPGA, mechanical engineering, connectors and cables, system level calibration, and software development
Experience in technical oversight of vendors and contractors
Strong project management skills, PMP certification a plus
Strong understanding of state-of-the-art technologies and practices for designing circuits, and modules for analog and power instruments.
Strong people and team management skills, with direct experience in functional management of multiple levels (managers and ICs). Management of remote teams or locations.
