Generac Clean Energy is looking for an Analytics Engineering Intern for the summer with potential to extend into the school year to help proactively monitor a growing fleet of residential solar and energy storage systems. This intern will work as part of the fleet analytics team, but will interface closely with members of engineering, field service and quality organizations.
This role will be responsible for searching and processing cloud-based data reported from field devices to help identify and understand both acute issues and long-term trends. The successful applicant will be capable of automating data collection and analysis, as well as clearly presenting results to a diverse group of stakeholders.
The position is onsite in South Portland, Maine OR could be located in our N. Billerica Office with travel to ME.
Major Responsibilities:
Automate field monitoring efforts by accessing and processing system- and device-level data from platform databases
Automate processes and procedures central to the larger Fleet Engineering Team
Identify and report on trends in field performance and device capability/reliability through standalone reports and automated dashboards
Assist in managing beta site monitoring and data collection programs for new products, design revisions, and high visibility projects
Develop criteria and implement tests for database data quality
Interface with firmware and electrical engineering teams to drive field issue investigations to root cause
Travel to other Generac facilities as necessary
Minimum Job Requirements:
Currently pursuing Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Data Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field
The ability to work full time during the summer months
Proficiency with Python or other high level programming languages
Relational database experience (SQL or similar)
Ability to analyze, summarize and present complex data
Experience with Git or similar version control system
Basic understanding of electrical/electronics concepts
Familiarity with C programming language
Preferred Job Requirements:
The ability to work 15-20 hours during the school year and full-time during school breaks
