Shop Manager
Aftermath is seeking a dedicated, experienced Shop Manager to lead our team. This role is designed for a leader who excels in a “Player/Coach” dynamic. A successful shop manager will perform administrative duties as well as actively participate in bioremediations with the team.
While prior experience in construction, demolition, restoration, and comparable industries is a plus, it is not required. Aftermath provides comprehensive training and certification on OSHA safety, IICRC compliance, biohazard remediation and mitigation, and customer service. We are committed to training our technicians for success.
What you’ll do:
Field Work
· Onsite supervision and active participation in various biohazard remediation projects.
· Responsible for effectively communicating and selling a tailored scope of work based on a thorough understanding of the client’s needs and obtaining sign-off to initiate work.
· Lead on-site customer interactions with empathy and professionalism, providing high-quality service and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the biohazard remediation process.
· Act as the main point of contact for customer complaint resolution, maintaining the highest standard of integrity with a keen focus on resolution and customer satisfaction.
Shop Management
· Appointment Logistics: Coordinate and ensure all necessary resources and personnel are in place for scheduled appointments. Update and review the weekly administrative calendar for task planning and prioritization.
· Cleanliness: Ensure cleanliness and organization-
o Truck: Keep the interior and exterior clean. Ensure safety and routine checks/maintenance are done.
o Shop/Warehouse: Maintain cleanliness and organization of products, tools, and equipment
· Shop Walks: Conduct proactive and thorough shop walkthroughs to ensure adherence to company standards and identify areas for improvement.
· Supply Management: Review inventory and place necessary supply orders to maintain operational readiness. Receive and put away supply orders to maintain an organized and efficient shop environment.
· Technology Check: Review technology and equipment to ensure functionality and address any maintenance needs.
· Certify Expenses: Ensure all expenses are accurately recorded.
Personnel Management
· Training and Development: Responsible for ongoing training of sales, processes, procedures, and safety compliance for the team, ensuring the highest service and technical proficiency standards are met while maintaining a safe work environment.
· Coaching: Conduct one-on-one meetings with team members and provide coaching for professional development, focusing on consultative sales techniques
· Timecards: Review and approve team timecards for accurate payroll processing.
· Accountability/Corrective Actions: Collaborate with Area Manager (AM) and/or HR to administer corrective action forms and hold crucial conversations with Team Members when necessary.
Business Management
· P&L Review: Analyze Profit and Loss (P&L) statements.
· Client Management: Review and follow up on your shop’s book of business, ensuring timely and effective communication with current and future clients.
· Lead Generation and Management: Follow up company resources and community relationships to generate and manage new business opportunities. Review lead funnel performance (Leads to Close) and create actionable plans to improve lead conversion rates.
Required Experience:
Working Conditions:
Must be able to respond to dispatch office within one hour of receiving a call.
Ability to lift up to 50lbs and handle physically demanding tasks.
Occasional overnight travel, with accommodations provided by the company.
Capable of handling a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
Basic Qualifications:
Must be 18 years of age or older
Must have a valid Driver's License and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record.
Must reside locally and be able to respond to the shop within one hour of receiving a service call
Must have a minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience. Preferably in biohazard remediation, construction, mitigation, restoration, or a related field.
Must have demonstrated leadership experience, preferably in a technical or field service environment.
Must possess strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Must have completed Aftermath’s Field Learning Path within 30 days of start, and Supervisor Learning Path within 90 days of start.
Preferred Qualifications:
IICRC S540 certification or equivalent in biohazard remediation
Proven experience in project management and team leadership in high-stress scenarios.
Customer service experience and military personnel are highly valued.
Exceptional communication skills and a track record of successful community engagement and outreach.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications and relevant software.
Relevant backgrounds that have found success at Aftermath Services are: EMT, Mortuary Affairs, Nursing, CNA, Restoration, Mitigation, Remediation, Asbestos Abatement, Construction, Pest Control
